If you are interested in joining our group, please contact Prof. Mayumi (kmayumi[at]issp.u-tokyo.ac.jp).

You can find more information of our lab in the website of Department of Advanced Materials Science.

For Students

Our group accepts master and doctoral students from Department of Advanced Materials Science, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. Department of Advanced Materials Science joins MERIT-WINGS, a fellowship to support master and doctoral students. Also, we encourage doctoral students to apply for the JSPS fellowship.

For postdoc researchers

We welcome international researchers to apply for JSPS postdoctoral fellowships for research in Japan.

Research environment

We have two laboratories and two offices in Kashiwa campus. In the laboratories, we prepare samples, and perform light scattering, NMR, and mechanical measurements. For small-angle neutron scattering experiments, we use SANS-U at JRR-3 in Tokai, Ibaraki.

Research field

In our group, we develop new polymeric materials and study molecular mechanisms of their functions by measuring nano structure/dynamics and macroscopic properties. In addition to fundamental studies, our group collaborates with chemical and material companies to transfer our knowledge to industry. We welcome students and researchers from various fields including chemistry, physics and engineering.
